There is a corresponding backlash against the Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, for bringing misfortune upon them. "Please tell everyone in Russia, in the world, that we want to be with Russia, we don't want Saakashvili. He has brought us nothing but trouble," implored Karaman Goguashvili, 77. "We don't need Nato, we don't need America, we need to be friends with Russia."

Rarely, but truth does come through. Saakashvili is a puppet with nil support of his own people. If you look hard enough, you will always find people in any country who are ready to betray real national interests of their country for personal titles, fame, long buck and CNN interviews making them seem "statesmen". US now repeats the mistakes of the USSR being the most ideoligized country with its religion of "Democracy"(aka communism, islam etc.) being imposed on all the world even if they must kill half the world to do so and employ the services of most unscrupulous people. Democracy itself degenerates in the process. Bush has 10% support, his Iraq adventure has the same, but he pushes on and on - thats democracy. Yuschenko is Ukraine has 10% support, NATO membership about the same, but he is pushing for NATO and the west calls him democrat. Georgia - data unavailable but I strongly suspect that Saakashvili would be nowhere to be seen if Georgia were to decide now: he is the west's best fighter for freedom and democracy. Medvedev enjoys 70% support, his actions in Georgia are overwhelmingly approved by Parliament and all russians, which of course means for the west, that he is a dictator and a "commie". That US and the "west" in general follow not the common sense and pragmatical apprroach, but a very ideologized platform seems to me very dangerous. We'll see new crusades soon.
